I meant to make separate posts for like everything... I really did. Um. Oops. Time just slipped away, what can I say? I have this backlog of posts just waiting there but I'm beginning to think given the time frame, each individual post isn't going to be super interesting. That being said, I do want to keep things updated and a few bigger posts it shall be. I'm thinking one for the facility and details regarding that and one for the rest of the vendors. Cool? Cool!

One of the very first things we did was book our venue. Given that we wanted to have our wedding in May, we knew all of the "good" places were going to book up relatively quickly. We wanted somewhere with a beautiful outdoor space for the ceremony, an awesome indoor space for the reception, and would do their own catering. Given that Connecticut weather can be unpredictable, they needed to have a decent rain plan. We wanted to keep it within a manageable price range per person and get the most bang for our buck because... come on. Need I say more?
Days upon days of searching the internet brought me to countless venues in our area with a myriad of things we wanted, but nothing had it all. Nothing really spoke to us... that was until arriving at the page of the Crystal Peak in Winchester, CT.
Beautiful outdoor space? Check.
Awesome indoor space? Check.
Rain plan? Check.
Decent prices? Check.
Seriously awesome open bar? Check. Check. Check. SOLD!

For an amazing price we are getting it all! It is run by a husband and wife duo. The husband runs the kitchen, the wife runs the event itself. We get to pick four entrees from a huge menu (our tasting is this weekend, I am so excited!). And BONUS, they are supplying an awesome substitution from the traditional wedding cake (to be talked about some time later). They cater to guests with special dietary needs at no extra cost to us, which is great for Andrew's relatives who keep kosher. We have a separate small room for cocktail hour (which is the same room used for a rain plan) and a HUGE hall for the dinner and dancing.
I don't want to give too much away, but I seriously cannot wait to get married here. It is absolutely perfect.
